
Peter Walker has been practising and teaching baby massage & physical therapy since 1977. Born in England, Peter now lives in Melbourne Australia with his wife and 5 children.
Peter Walker is a physical therapist & baby yoga instructor, applying his work to infants, young children and expecting mothers. Peter originally studied Lyengar Yoga in the mid 70's, and has continually expanded his knowledge since. In the 1980's he worked for 10 years with respected psychiatrist Dr. RD Laing, and introduced therapeutic yoga to his clients. Throughout his career Peter has helped develop parent-child relationships as well as overall wellbeing, to become instrumental in the increase of public awareness to the benefits of his work.
Peter Walker has trained over 10,000 students, in 22 different countries, his unique method of physical therapy for babies. In fact Peter's courses are part of a university honours degree in mid-wife and neonatal nursing at the University of Greenwich in London. His courses encompass baby massage, baby yoga, developmental exercises and the role of the father in pregnancy.
Peter essentially developed his baby massage DVDs and instructional baby therapy books so that parents could have a practical way to learn his techniques in the comfort of their own home. His books have been very successful and have been published in 18 different languages around the world .Contained on the books and DVDs are techniques that Peter uses in his courses and workshops, that can be learnt from the comfort of one's own home. To date Peter Walker has published 8 books and 9 DVDs, covering everything from baby massage to baby yoga to pregnancy stretches.
Peter's techniques have been extensively featured in the mainstream media in Australia, UK, Japan and the US. He has been an expert guest interviewee in Woman, Cosmopolitan, Harpers & Queen, The Telegraph, Daily Mail, The Guardian, The Observer, The Times, Japan Times and Natural Parenting, among many others.
